In August 2013 two self-service payment kiosks were installed in Marischal College Customer Service Centre. The self-service payment kiosks offer cash and card based payment facilities to customers, accepting payments for council services previously processed by Customer Service Advisers via the Civica Icon financial system, including rent and Council Tax. The Customer Service Advisers have ceased to perform a cashier function, with the kiosks acting as a replacement.
The Council found the payment kiosks have “greatly enhanced the customer experience at Marischal College Customer Service Centre and may even be bringing additional revenue to Aberdeen City Council as well as potentially saving money through a reduction of Full Time Equivalent Staff required at the Customer Service Centre” Craig Farquhar, Project Executive, Aberdeen City Council.
Due to the success of the kiosks Aberdeen City Council procured three additional kiosks which were installed in Summer 2016.
