Smart Ticketing Kiosks Installed At Elland Road
In July 2013 Cammax was awarded the contract to supply kiosks to the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (Metro) with smart ticketing kiosks. The contract was awarded under a framework agreement which serves 10 transport authorities.
After several months of design and development the first of the kiosks have been successfully installed into the new high profile Park and Ride at Elland Road this June.
The Park and Ride site was fast tracked to open in time for the opening of the Tour de France 2014 and is hoped to remove hundreds of cars from Leeds City centre.
Leeds City Council’s executive board member for the economy and development, Counsellor Richard Lewis, said today: “It is so simple to park up and jump on a bus as well as good value. We hope motorists will take this opportunity to leave their cars safely behind and enjoy a stress-free journey into the city.
“Elland Road park-and-ride is set to remove hundreds of cars from Leeds city centre. We are committed to reducing congestion and pollution which this project will certainly help. It is just part of our upcoming plans to offer Leeds commuters more efficient and cheaper travel options.”
In a bid to increase the efficiency of the Park and Ride one of the key features is the 24hour Smart Ticketing kiosk provided by Cammax. The Smart ticketing kiosk provides Leeds commuters:
- Simple to use interface
- Robust outdoor kiosk outdoor
- Secondary information screen
- ITSO card top ups and product loading
- Card payment facility for range of travel products
- Receipt printing
- Ticket printing
The ticketing kiosk will allow commuters to use their ITSO Smart cards to access a range of products available on the kiosk. The simple to use interface will ensure a quick transaction at the kiosk ensuring queues are kept to a minimum. This will ensure that the members of the public using the Park and Ride facility will have a stress free and efficient way of entering the City Centre.
Cammax are very proud of this project and are committed to ensuring the continual development of Smart Ticketing kiosks and are eagerly waiting on the next phase of kiosks being rolled out in Nottingham City Council this August.
