Touchscreen kiosk FAQs

Find out the answers to the most common questions we receive about our kiosks:

Kiosk Software Questions

One of our project managers will sit down with you and plan your system and we will then present content designs and a roadmap. Throughout the process we will liaise with you in order to ensure the system meets all of your requirements.

We design the system around your requirements; we can either update the content for you or we can design the solution to allow your staff to update the system easily by a non-technical person.

We offer a comprehensive range of security measures from the initial wrap around secure browser, through to Internet walled gardens and firewalls. Furthermore, we offer the option of remote management to update the kiosk software when required.

We have partnered with Ecebs, the UK’s leading provider of ITSO based smart ticketing software to offer ITSO based ticket fulfilment via our kiosks to the transport sector. Our partnership with Ecebs brings our market leading SMART ticket kiosks together with Ecebs Paragon ticketing software in an integrated transport solution.

These kiosks are being installed throughout the country making it easier for public transport passengers to buy and use tickets. Working in partnership with ECEBS, Cammax kiosks can assist the public in accessing SMART cards and using the kiosks to top up the required product.

People are becoming progressively more familiar with kiosks but the concern is understandable. The easiest way to prevent confusion and queues is to make the kiosk as quick and easy to use as possible – avoid confusing imagery or long processing times otherwise you could have a lot of people waiting.

The key advice in order to prevent congestion is to initially have a member on staff on hand at the kiosk location to support confused users as they get used to the technology.

At Cammax we’re proud of the aftercare we offer and if a problem arises a solution is usually easy to find. Most of our kiosks come supplied with diagnostic software that monitors usage and will highlight any problems but if the issue persists then a member of our team will be more than happy to help.

This questions is quite subjective because you must consider if the kiosk needs to be compatible with your existing system. If you require a kiosk to carry out a standalone task, such as dispensing change, then it’s not in your interest to link it to a Wi-Fi network or server.

If the kiosk is set to carry out more complex tasks then it can be integrated into existing systems via hardware or Wi-Fi connectivity, for more information please get in touch.

Yes. The good news is that the kiosks can perform virtually any task they are programmed to do. Our units can be built to accept notes/coins as well as card chip and pin transactions. One of the biggest payment advancements in recent years has been the introduction of contactless cards and we also offer kiosks with integrated contactlesss technology so you will never miss out on any form of payment.

Virtually any kind of ticket can be printed by our state-of-the-art units; the kiosks just need to be programmed to carry out a specific function. The most basic ticket kiosks will dispense a single use paper ticket or label but our more advanced units can be programmed to print reusable tickets for multiple purposes including repeat use travel tickets.

At Cammax we’ve been working hard since 1999 to offer kiosk solutions that help businesses in every sector. Here are some of our most popular kiosk software options:

Prescription Payment Kiosks

We have developed a prescription payment kiosk specific to the NHS, to allow patients to pay for prescriptions during out of hours. This service allows A&E departments to capture thousands of pounds in lost revenue by taking payment for prescriptions when they previously would have been issued free of charge. The kiosks have also been adapted to incorporate payment for a wider range of hospital services such as maternity scans, crutches and walking aids.

Council Payment kiosk

Local authorities across the UK have benefitted from Cammax kiosks that have significantly improved the overall service provided by Councils whilst reducing transaction costs and improving customer service. The kiosks provide customers with the ability to pay for a wide range of services such as Council Tax, Fines, Licenses and School meals without having to queue to speak to staff.

Information Kiosk

The popularity and proliferation of touchscreen devices is making easily accessible information more and more of a necessity. With a Cammax information kiosk you can ensure that your consumers always have the information that they desire, at their fingertips. Used for displaying information, an information kiosk can be placed in a public area or on your businesses premises; in order to effectively help users and visitors to gain access to vital information.

Wayfinding Kiosk

Wayfinding kiosks provide hospitals, universities, and large organisations with a user friendly, touch-based and interactive solution for people visiting their sites. An intuitive user interface allows visitors to find a route map to their destination, and take a print out with them. Our wayfinding kiosks also offer a web based management system that allows you to manage your kiosks and modify names and directions for each location.

Multilingual and Translation Kiosk

As diversity and equality becomes more and more important in today’s environment, Cammax have been able to provide Public and Private sector organisations cost effective multi-lingual kiosk solutions. These kiosks have enabled customers such as the NHS, Police, businesses and universities to benefit from more effective communication with non-English speaking clients.
