Haven Systems Chooses Cammax Limited for City Cruises – Self Service Ticket Payment Kiosks.

City Cruises has recently launched a self service ticket payment kiosk that enables customers to quickly and efficiently purchase tickets using a chip and pin transaction for cruises on the River Thames during busy peak times. The kiosks are located at City Cruises sales offices at Tower Pier and the Embankment at Westminster.

Cammax Limited was chosen by Haven Systems, a dedicated EPOS and ticketing solutions provider, to develop a self service outdoor payment kiosk to City Cruises’ bespoke requirements. The kiosk incorporates twin high brightness 19″ screens. The top screen is used to display promotional advertisements and up to date information while the bottom screen is a 19″ interactive touch screen which customers use for selecting and purchasing the tickets.

For printing the tickets, the kiosk incorporates the TSP800II from international printer manufacturer Star Micronics. The TSP800II is capable of printing 180mm/sec and features a scalable raster driver that can scale an A4 page down to virtual A6.

With a print width up to 112mm and the ability to print on paper stock up to 0.15mm in thickness, the TSP800II is a highly versatile printer. Furthermore, with a compact footprint and ‘Drop-in and Print’ easy paper loading facility, the TSP800II offers a range of unique features.

As Adrian Hamer, Cammax Limited, states, The design of the kiosk had to be robust to withstand outdoor conditions and provide a reliable ticketing service to customers. Having worked with Star for a number of years we selected the TSP800II given its unique features, reliability and ease of installation. The printer has proved to be the ideal printing solution.
